Together @ Shuttleworth 2009 Our regional weekend at Shuttleworth in August 2008 was a fantastic success. Over 1600 people enjoyed good weather, tremendously inspiring teaching from PJ Smyth, many testimonies of conversions and a very real sense of togetherness. So once again churches from Essex, Herts, Northants, Oxon, Bucks, Cambs, Beds will gather and in 2009 we will be joined by churches from Birmingham, Lincoln, Loughborough and Stamford. The weekend is being held at Shuttleworth College, a beautiful site off the A1 near Biggleswade. It will take place over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, Friday 28th - Monday 31st August, inclusive. Accommodation will predominantly be camping, although there are a limited number of hostel type rooms available on site. Day visitors will also be welcome, but we would encourage everyone not to miss the benefits of being on site together throughout the event. This weekend gives us the chance to gather as a family on a mission together, something that neither the Leaders Conference nor Newday can offer. There is no overlap or competition with either of these events, but rather a fresh opportunity to reach for God's future for us working together in this area of the UK. We want it to inspire us locally and also to be something of a 'shop window' for our friends seeking to know more about Newfrontiers. In 2009 we will see:- Dave Devenish - We are delighted that Dave will be joining us. He lives locallly in Bedford, where he is an Elder at Woodside Church, and a part of the international leadership team of the Newfrontiers family of churches. He is married to Scilla and they have four grown-up children. David frequently travels abroad, helping to oversee churches in Russia and Ukraine. He is also responsible for developing Newfrontiers' missions policy for unreached people groups. He is the author of two books, ‘Demolishing Strongholds’ and ‘What on Earth is the Church For?’
- Rhys Scott and the Christchurch band will be leading worship with Daniel Goodman from Cambridge.
- Melanie Crane & Adrian Horner and their teams will again be leading youth and children's work.
- We will have vastly improved toilets and more showers!
And finally the prices will be the same or reduced, especially for families. |
