The Friday Night Meeting (FNM) is an outreach meeting providing hot meals and drinks for rough sleepers and those in need. The evening consists of dinner, worship, a relevant talk and prayer. We want FNM to be a safe place where people are able to talk about their problems in a Christian context.
On Friday afternoons and on some evenings a group of people go onto the streets of the community to meet people who may need the services of the Nightshelter or the Friday Night Meeting. A function of street work is to give sandwiches, coffee, blankets and friendship to people in need. “I started volunteering at FNM 3 years ago in January 2005. From that first evening I loved every minute of it, even the endless washing up!! God has given me a real sense of purpose and value on a Friday evening. What a privilege to be able to serve with an amazing team of volunteers providing food and hopefully a real sense of Gods love and compassion for everyone who comes through the doors.” Ali Shields (pictured above), FNM Core Team
