Group Life FAQ

Why should I join a group at King’s Arms?

The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone; the Bible describes it as being born into a new a family. Groups are where we worship, grow, connect and reach out together in a way not possible through any other means.

But I already have friends here, isn’t that enough?

Friendship groups are important but if they are all that we have they can tend to feel cliquey and unwelcoming to others; we can quickly stagnate into a life surrounding ourselves with those who make our lives better. God has called us to more! Groups aim to be an inclusive family and community, which draw in others who may not yet have found family, a place where everyone can belong and be on mission together.

When and how can I sign up to join a group?

At the beginning of each term there will be two-week sign up window. You can sign up for the next term online on the 2nd January 2018.

How do I choose which group to join?

Ask yourself what are you passionate about or what areas you want to grow in? What skills do you have or who you want to learn from then check out the list.

There are no groups that focus on my particular passion, what do I do?

Is God calling you to serve another person's vision for a season, learning skills about leadership and healthy groups? It’s important to be connected somewhere.

Can I join more than one group?

The short answer is yes! Though we’d want you to prayerfully consider your capacity and be able to fully commit to all you sign up to.

How long am I committed to that group?

You are committing for just one term, but you’d be welcome to stay longer if you want to. Just chat to the group leaders and sign up for that group again.

Should I sign up if I’m staying in the group I attended last term?

Yes, definitely! This will help us and group leaders know who is in each group.

What if I want to lead a group, what do I do then?

We’d love you to contact us via the website at kingsarms.org/startagroup and one of our team will be in touch to chat about your ideas.
