What is Raw Church?
So what is RAW church? Check out the video above to hear Simon Holley share the genesis and the vision behind RAW but, in a nutshell:
RAW Church is a Sunday gathering live on Zoom where we get the real connection we’re all craving, go deeper into God’s word together, and learn to grow as followers of Jesus.
RAW Church is for you if you are longing for more connection and hungry to get deeper into God’s word.

What You Need To Know
- RAW Church meets live on Zoom on Sunday mornings at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30am for 65 minutes.
- If you join a RAW you’ll be joining a community that’s going to be in place until at least the end of March 2021.
- Each RAW is limited to 80 people so over time you’ll get to know lots of people from that group.

What You Need To Know
- Each week there will be stories of what God’s doing in people’s lives, an element of worship and opportunity to prophecy and pray for one another. At least half of the time is centered around God’s word - reading a passage together in a small breakout group of 5-6 people and using it to discuss and hear God.
- We’d encourage people to still come to face-to-face meetings if they are able to. The vision would be that some of the people you meet on RAW will also come to the same face-to-face meeting occasionally so you will over time get to know a much bigger group of people.
FAQS
Do I have to go every week?
No you don’t. However, after trying it a few times we would ask that people commit to at least twice a month. We only have 80 places on each RAW and so we’re wanting to reserve those for people who are committed to building community together this winter.
What if I want to sometimes go to face-to-face meetings at King’s House?
We’d actively encourage that! Whatever you can make work!
Is it for Kids?
Older children (probably 9 or 10 and up) can definitely enjoy RAW along with their parents. It’s not really for younger children in its current format and it’s not suitable for kids to come alone due to child protection concerns. We have a number of other places for children to connect this winter. If you have younger children why not try out the online church with them. You can also try out the face to face family meeting (currently unavailable due to November lockdown). For preteens and teens we have a number of things going on, check out their instagram page for the most up to date news. Finally for up to date information on what’s happening for children ensure your children are registered on the hub to ensure you receive the updates.
Do I have to know loads about the bible?
Absolutely not! In fact discovery bible study is designed for those who have never read the bible before and for mature christians. But each week is focussed on one passage that will be read in the group and there’s no need to know anything about other passages. The whole aim is to demonstrate that everyone can read, enjoy and be transformed by God’s word
Do I have to speak in front of 80 people?
No! Most won’t speak in the large group.
Do I have to speak in the break-out groups?
Obviously no one can force you to speak! Each break-out group will be led by a trained leader whose aim is to encourage discussion without forcing it! So the answer is yes - but if you feel shy of speaking then you can just make short comments! And of course asking questions is a great way of contributing without feeling pressure to come up with something! “I’m not sure what I think about that question, what do others think?” Is a great response!
Where do I go with other questions?
