After the damage caused by last weekend's flooding, we will be using this page to keep you informed on the latest news at King's House, specifically regarding our Sunday meetings.

SATURDAY, 28TH SEPTEMBER
Friends, we're delighted to share that after significant hard work from the facilities team this week that the auditorium is now fit for people to be in it tomorrow for our King's House Sunday meetings. You no longer need to book your place, and capacity is restored for you to invite people to come and hear Andy Kind lifting the name of Jesus.
The truth is that we're very sorry to have to communicate a change in plans again, but in the circumstances on Tuesday when we felt a decision had to be made, the room smelt so poor that people were feeling nauseous going into it. In addition to the fact that we weren't confident that the root problems were fully fixed. However, we're happy to admit when we're wrong and want to be able to respond to changes in the situation as best as we can.
TUESDAY, 24TH SEPTEMBER
Since having to cancel our church services at King's House last Sunday (22nd September) it turned out that our challenges with the flooding around the building were slightly more complicated than first thought. For the last two days, we’ve encountered more standing water in the auditorium since the big storms on Saturday night.
The initial drain blockage we had was brought about because of the quantity and speed of the water dragging the top film off the roof and blocking the drains. We cleared this right away but the speed and pressure of the water seems to have had some knock-on effects including bursting a drain at the front of the building, overwhelming several ‘soak-aways’ and cracking a significant pipe in the auditorium wall, meaning every time it rained over the last few days water was coming through the walls and into the room.
This is going to take a significant repair and clear-up operation, and has left the room smelling very bad, with the carpet needing to be replaced and the concrete having to dry out properly. As an aside, if you own or have access to a large or industrial dehumidifier, we’d love you to email isabel.turner@kingsarms.org.
