Thirst Termly
Thirst Termly
If you’ve been around King’s Arms for a while you’ll know that every term we take a week to pray, ‘Thirst Prayer’. What you might not know is that everything else we do as a church depends on and starts with prayer…
Over a decade ago I (Katy) joined this church because I saw a community of people who read, believed and actioned verses like this: ‘Jesus went around healing every disease and every affliction’ (Matt 4v23), ‘the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown… and [Jericho’s] wall went down flat’ (Joshua 6v20), and ‘I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ (Matt 25v35-36)
We gather in prayer because we know that we can’t do all of this in our own strength, the needs around us are too great, the city walls too high. We gather to be sent out filled with God’s strength to co-labour with Him as He brings peace, healing and hope to our desperate world.
We will pray Sunday 10th Oct at 8pm, and then throughout the week, details to be added to kingsarms.org/thirst
