Spiritual Oversight Team Archives

Peter is one of our deacons who serves on the Spiritual Oversight team. He was born and bred in Wolverhampton, the son of Indian immigrants who came to the UK back in the 1950s. He retired from a 34-year long teaching career in 2019 and is married to Lisa; they have two grown up children. Josh is an associate pastor at a church in Bedford and Ellie is a full time sportswoman (netball, for those who are interested!).

Peter’s heart is very much pastorally orientated, which is reflected in both his volunteering role at Bedford Hospital, where he sits with 'end of life’ patients, and serving in the kitchen at our Friday Night Meal ministry.

Alongside this, his hobbies involve coaching hockey, sports photography and walking. In the summer, Peter's biggest passion is his BBQ where he enjoys experimenting with different flavours. This allows him to bring people together, building relationships and community over good food and good company.

Nikki has served as a trustee at King's Arms since 2019 and contributes regularly as a volunteer within the audiovisuals team. She is also one of our deacons, serving on the Spiritual and Governance Oversight teams.

Nikki is passionate about living out faith in the workplace and speaks across a variety of platforms about team dynamics and values-based leadership.

Fortune is our 11:30am Meeting Pastor. He is also one of our deacons serving in the Spiritual Oversight team and the Core team.

Charlene is a South African who lives in Bedford with her husband, two children and two dogs. She moved to the UK in 2007 to join a church plant team in South London.

She joined King’s Arms in 2014 where she leads the prophetic ministry and the Revive Ministry School. Additionally, Charlene is also a part of the Apostolic Hub team led by Phil Wilthew, and is one of our deacons serving on the Spiritual Oversight team.

Charlene is passionate about the nations and loves pioneering, the prophetic and preaching. Her joy is to see God’s people walking in the freedom, healing and authority that God has given them.

Phil is the Teaching Pastor at King’s Arms and has been a part of the team since 2010. Phil is involved in a number of areas of church life including the Prophetic Team which supports and resources churches and leaders in other nations. Phil is married to Carole and they have two children. Phil is an avid football fan, supporting Brighton, and likes to unwind by playing FIFA. Fun fact, Phil always has an ‘emergency banana’ at hand!

Steve is a passionate evangelist and leader, whose life was transformed when he stumbled into church as a 24-year old. King’s Arms has been home ever since where he has worn many hats but still gets most excited about those outside the church taking steps toward coming to know Jesus.

Steve became an elder in 2013 and serves as the church Executive Pastor and 10:30am Meeting Pastor. As co-leader of the church OLT, his varied role is responsible for the oversight of staff leading in Evangelism and Outreach, Social Action and the management of King’s House facilities; along with Finance, Governance and the Meeting Pastors across all King’s Arms locations.

He’s married to Philippa and they have three wonderful children, all of whom he’s insisting support his beloved Nottingham Forest!

Simon is the Senior pastor at King’s Arms. He also leads the team that serves the Catalyst family of churches. He loves seeing people released into all they can be in God. He regularly travels around the world to teach and input into leadership teams at other churches. Simon is married to Caroline and they have three children. He can often be found paddleboarding, hiking or generally trying to find someone to play a game!
